I reckon this could be possible, to be honest.
If our midfield is still lacking, then we might end up going for him on a one year deal if we think he can do that role we are sorely lacking at the moment.

Well he hardly brings pace but as Papa "The Wardrobe" Diop showed in his one season gig with us, that being a big lump and knowing how to play the DM role ( positioning discipline ) goes a long way.. OK Papa was playing in the Championship and possibly a youthful 33 or 34 years old ?
Toure still looked decent ( albeit in a strong team ) last time I saw him and he can pass, provides an aerial threat and above all else is physically imposing to play against.
Check him out and consider it I would say ( uniformed old git on the sofa is my qualification) .

Ludo, Yes was, does not get into Man City, but for us? I’m not sure, but if Pellegrini wants him I’d be well pleased. I think it could be great for Rice.

Can’t free agents be signed outside of the window? I’m sure that’s what happened with Evra because we were desperate and basically he was all that was left.
